GABRIEL + SANTIAGO

GABRIEL + SANTIAGO

"Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero"- Marc Brown. This quote is perfectly describes Gabriel + Santiago. These two were a delight to watch together. They know how to make each other laugh and are best friends. Their faces lit up when they saw their superhero costumes and immediately began playing together. We as photographers just let them be kids and capture who they really are; playful, enthusiastic, shy, kind, etc. We loved getting to do this and giving the Rivera family portraits they could treasure for a lifetime.

Maternity Shoot at Wynwood/Park

MICHELLE, MARCOS, EMMA + LEYLA

We love what we do and getting to be part of special moments in people's lives. I read somewhere, that photography is a gift. It's the art of telling someone's story, of freezing a moment in time forever. We are the lucky ones who are granted the opportunity to be able to be part of the De Mota family's lives and get to tell their story. They have been anticipating Leyla's (their soon to be born baby girl) arrival for some time now. We got to capture their excitement and overall love for one another. But let's be real, the real star of this shoot was Emma, their 4 year old. She is a little model with a shy, sweet spirit to make you fall in love. We hope you enjoy these images! And another huge congrats to Michelle, Marcos, and sweet Emma for the gift of Leyla.

Laura + Paul / Surprise Engagement Shoot!

Laura + Paul

For starters, you should know that Laura is my sister (Camille, writing here), so you can imagine the excitement we felt when we found out Paul was going to pop the question! He wanted something special, intimate, and symbolic of their relationship. He mentioned their first dates were picnics at the beach. The photographer in both Jp + I got really excited at the possibilities of a romantic styled shoot at the beach. We went on a mission to find simple, boho-chic pieces that could tie the look together. You gotta know that Laura is very inquisitive and curious, therefore, we had to be sneaky to keep this all on the down low. Paul spoke with Laura's manager so that she could come up with a mysterious makeup gig Laura needed to go to at the beach. With that, she suspected nothing. She even asked Paul to accompany her to the gig. It was perfect! We were hiding in the bushes, while he got down on one knee on April, 15, 2017. Her shock and raw emotion was the best. Their love is genuine and their joy is contagious. Hope you enjoy these images.

Samantha + Tyrone

Samantha + Tyrone

Samantha + Tyrone celebrated their wedding this past fall with their close friends and family and it was so awesome to witness. They shared their story about how they met. She is from Mexico and he is from the states. With a little help from their mutual friend, they met at their local church and quickly fell in love. In a year's time, here we were, watching them become Mr. + Mrs. The love and energy felt between the bride and groom, their friends, their family, was strong and real. We love getting to shoot these kinds of couples. We wish them a lifetime of happiness + blessings.

Benjamin + Levi

BENJAMIN + LEVI

During a quick trip to Miami over the holidays, we took a few snapshots of our nephews, Benjamin & Levi. The brotherly bond they share is just the sweetest. We were blown away at how easy it was to capture their authentic spirits. Benjamin (6 month old) loves to smile and Levi (1.5 year old) loves to model for the camera. The funniest part was when we asked Levi to hug Benjamin & in an instant he was on top of his brother like a sumo wrestler. We quickly explained hugging is a little gentler than that. We hope you enjoy these shots of our impromptu photo shoot of the cutest kids in town.

Crosby Family

CROSBY FAMILY

Fall is coming to an end here in Pennsylvania, but we were lucky to find this location for the Crosby family right before snow showed up. We were happy to find out that this spot has been a family favorite for the Crosby family for many years, this added more value to their shoot. Enjoy some of our favorites from this family portrait session.

Camille

Fall is upon us. As photographers and nature lovers, this has got to be one of our favorite seasons. The bright red, yellow, and orange leaves create the best backdrop for portraits. This shoot was as spontaneous as it gets. These images feature my wife, Camille (who usually assists me behind the lens). She had 2 dresses in her closet and had never found the right occasion to wear them to. The night before the shoot, she took out the yellow dress and said: "I'm gonna get rid of this dress or give it to someone, I've had it for a few years. It was my maid of honor dress for my sister's wedding but we changed our minds at some point." By the time she finished her sentence, I had already planned this whole shoot out! The next morning we grabbed a chair that sits in our bedroom, which we never really use, and gave it some useful purpose. We also took a second dress I had gifted her on our honeymoon. I knew exactly where we were headed. The adventure continued as we stumbled across beautiful roads, an abandoned barn, tall forest trees. We could not have asked for a better day to shoot. We love the final result and hope you do, too!

FS Conference

FS Conference | Logo and Branding

FS (Fully Surrendered) Conference took place in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania at Community Church. The mountains in this design reference the town geographically and the hands lifted high reference the essence of the event, surrender. The logo is simple and versatile. The logo and design were used to create several promo items and printed material like journals, T-shirts, event program cards and roll up banners.

Camilo + Ruthy

Camilo + Ruthy

We had the best time celebrating the beautiful union of Camilo & Ruthy. The celebration took place in the Omni Orlando Resort at Champion's Gate in Florida. From the bride's dresses to the luxurious venue and all the love shared in between, we felt lucky to capture it all. Their love for each other was evident throughout the day. Congrats to this awesome couple!

Camilo + Ruthy // Engagement shoot at the Metropolitan Building

Camilo + Ruthy // Engagement shoot at the Metropolitan Building

Camilo and Ruth are about as cool as an engaged couple can get! From the initial conversation regarding their engagement shoot to glancing at different venues, they were open and excited to create something special. These images translate their pure and authentic love as well as their silly and light-hearted spirits! We couldn't love them and these pictures more! Plus, we are beyond grateful they chose The Metropolitan Building in NYC as the venue for the shoot. It is any photographer's dream to shoot here. The lighting and the antique vibes are killing it!

We had so much fun with this couple and we can't wait to shoot their wedding in Orlando, Florida this August!

Meet the Cox's

Meet the Cox's

It was a regular Saturday morning for us here at Breakthrough before we got the call to cover the Cox's wedding a few hours before the ceremony began. We detected the couple's disappointment and desperation in having their wedding photography fall through on their big day. Without hesitation, we said "yes"! Our Saturday had now become an adventure.

This is not how we typically meet our couples, therefore, we had little to no clue how the wedding was going to be like and who the bride and the groom were. To our surprise, the wedding was the most beautiful wedding we've had the privilege to cover. Not because of a beautiful venue, or a stunning dress, or a big wedding party, but because the love felt between this couple was as real as it gets.

As soon as we met Chrissy, the bride, we learned of her numerous medical conditions including "trems" and vision loss, but as Chrissy explained to us, "[her] fiancé doesn't mind". And as Chrissy walked down the aisle with the biggest smile on her face, Jordan, the groom, could not contain his tears and excitement. The way Jordan held Chrissy throughout the ceremony and spoke of her during his vows made it clear he sees her through the lens of God's love. The bride and groom declared their love for each other in Jesus' name as their closest friends and family welled up with tears and joy. And with that, we were so glad we said "yes"! We hope you enjoy the captures of this real-life fairytale wedding.

NEXT | Logo Design

NEXT is a small group learning experience at Community Church. It's designed to further people in their walk with God. We decided to create a logo that visibly made reference to its name. Also, keeping with the style and color scheme of the church, we chose a red, white, and grey color scheme. Overall, we are proud of the results. Hope you like it as much as we do!

Look who's 1!

Look who's 1!

Never have we ever made as many goofy faces, sang as many Mickey Mouse Clubhouse songs, and danced around as much as we did when we shot Julian's 1st Birthday. And who wouldn't do anything to make this little guy smile?! I mean, look at him! We are so happy with the results.

The concept behind this shoot was to capture little Julian in his natural environment. We shot this in his home, on his living room floor. We relied on the natural lighting peeking in through the large windows and patio doors. It was truly special to watch him interact with his older sister, Selena, and to see him respond in laughter to all of her quirks. A huge thank you to mommy, Candice, and our good friend, Rabia, in helping keep Julian happy and in a good mood throughout the shoot. We hope you love these as much as we do!

Filipe Michael

Filipe Michael

Filipe is a musical genius, and like many, he's not a fan of center stage. We were happy to see him comfortable and confident, giving us these great images. I've enjoyed working with Filipe for many years and was happy to work on this shoot together for the launch of his website. We all worked as a team, his wife was there, my wife was there, and studio owner Will Overstreet were all part of what you see. It was a night out with friends.

Events by Laura Rosa

Events by Laura Rosa

Laura Rosa is a rising event planner based in Miami. She is a creative, free-spirit mind who happens to be family and who we were glad to develop something special for. Her brand is a mix of simplicity, elegance, and poise so we wanted our design to feed off of that. We opted to develop a logotype from the client's initials. The design began with Laura sharing her vision and creative approach. We'll let you in on the creative process of this logo design and other stationary items we created.

The client asked for neutral tones. We used this color palette to create different combinations and choices, giving her the freedom to have the final say on what her business cards would look like.

After sending her our drafts and getting her feedback, we encountered a problem...the kind of problem we like. She liked them all and found it hard to choose just one.

We wish Laura much success with her company! Here's to doing what you love and loving what you do!

Guzman Maternity Shoot

Guzman Maternity Shoot

_MG_2908.jpg

Pamela is expecting her second baby and as many other milestones in her life, we were there to capture it. From the couple's engagement, to the wedding day, to their first pregnancy, then to their newborn and now to a second time mom-to-be, we've enjoyed being there to share these moments with them. Over the years, we've built a connection to this family that allows for a  dynamic environment, filled with jokes that keep each session fun. This shoot is what we envisioned for the Guzman crew from the day we started planning. The natural sunlight, the industrial windows and the purity in this mom's smile is what makes this shoot one of our favorites to date.

I believe it's appropriate to share a memory from October 2009. This is a photo from our shoot together during her first pregnancy! Then and still now, Pamela makes a gorgeous mom-to-be.

The Vialta's: An Engagement on the Rocks

This couple braved the winter weather during their engagement shoot by keeping their warm summer wedding day in mind. Luckily, winter took longer to arrive in Pennsylvania and we were fortunate to get these shots in before snowfall. Victor and Lady behaved like pros during their quick session and gave us all the warm, cozy feels on a winter's day. Here's a quick glance at some of our favorites!

Bride takes Central Park

Shooting a stunning bride in Central Park can hardly be called "work". Nataly, the bride, was braving the chilly autumn weather in a strapless gown while NYC passersby glanced in awe. It was an amazing experience shooting through the park's grand arches, cobblestone roads, and colorful trees. We were lucky to work with a flexible, fun, and beautiful bride who was not shy to rock her dress with an audience of people watching and taking pictures. She knew how to work the camera and her personality really comes through in these shots. It's shoots like these that remind us why we love what we do.

Rivera's

RIVERA FAMILY

We were thrilled to photograph this fashionable bunch; Eligh, Ethan, Eva & Eadyn Rivera. We got together briefly before the shoot to finalize outfits. We, including parents, had very little space for input. From poses to outfits, they had it all figured out.

It was so easy shooting these siblings. They brought energy and joy to the shoot. From teasing one another to giving us amazing head shots, they made our task fun and easy as pumpkin pie.

We took advantage of the natural colors of the season and produced a family fall themed photo session that we hope you love just as much as we do!
